NEPBA Welcomes Sgt. Karie Tucker as Vermont Representative

Chelmsford, MA – July 29, 2026 – The New England Police Benevolent Association (NEPBA) is proud to announce the appointment of Sergeant Karie Tucker as its newest Representative, serving law enforcement professionals throughout the State of Vermont.
A third-generation Vermont law enforcement officer, Sgt. Tucker brings more than 15 years of policing experience, extensive investigative expertise, and a unique background in officer wellness to the Association. She currently serves as a Sergeant with the Thetford Police Department, where she supervises patrol operations, oversees criminal investigations, develops departmental policies, secures grant funding, and works closely with community partners to strengthen public safety initiatives.

"She is an accomplished law enforcement professional whose experience spans complex criminal investigations, leadership, officer wellness, and community engagement. Karie embodies the values of professionalism, service, and advocacy that define our organization, and I have no doubt she will be a tremendous resource for our members across Vermont."
Throughout her career, Sgt. Tucker has investigated major narcotics trafficking, sexual assaults, crimes against children, and other complex criminal cases while working alongside the FBI, DEA, ATF, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and state prosecutors on numerous state and federal investigations. She is highly trained in forensic interviewing, interview and interrogation techniques, crisis negotiation, internal investigations, and drug interdiction, making her one of Vermont's most accomplished investigators.
In addition to her law enforcement career, Sgt. Tucker earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University and works as a pre-licensed psychotherapist, specializing in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, addiction, and first responder wellness. Her professional experience provides her with a unique understanding of the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges faced by today's law enforcement officers, further strengthening her ability to advocate for NEPBA members both professionally and personally.
