SAINT ALBANS VERMONT POLICE DEPARTMENT JOIN THE NEPBA

The members of the Saint Albans Police Union voted unanimously to leave American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and join the New England Police Benevolent Association (NEPBA).  The members wanted a union that would be able to address the needs of Police Officers. They felt that AFSCME could not handle the task of representing them after an officer involved shooting. In speaking with several officers, they were concerned that AFSCME did not provide the law enforcement expertise that NEPBA had to offer, and after careful consideration the members took the necessary steps to change unions. They are now members of the largest law enforcement union in Vermont.

New England PBA Executive Vice President, Tom Daly stated, We are proud of our organizing team and their continued record of accomplishment. Yet, our continued growth in Vermont is predicated on our ability to deliver quality contracts and by continuing to provide the stellar legal services for all those we represent, including our newest members of the Saint Albans Police Union.”

New England PBA Executive Director Jerry Flynn stated; “The Officers of the Saint Albans Police Department are the utmost professionals and their decision to go with a professional law enforcement organization like New England PBA is obviously the right choiceAs I have said numerous times, our best advertising comes from our members.”

New England PBA Vermont State Director Sean R. McArdle stated, “We are extremely proud to be representing the hard-working men and women of the Saint Albans Police Department and our organization is looking forward to providing them with the services and representation they so deserve.”
