NEPBA APPLAUDS NORFOLK COUNTY SHERIFF JERRY McDERMOTT & MIDDLESEX COUNTY SHERIFF PETER KOUTOUJIAN FOR SUPPORTING OUR MEMBERS.

NEPBA APPLAUDS NORFOLK COUNTY SHERIFF JERRY McDERMOTT & MIDDLESEX COUNTY SHERIFF PETER KOUTOUJIAN FOR SUPPORTING OUR MEMBERS.

The NEPBA applauds Norfolk County Sheriff Jerry McDermott for taking the initiative of compensating and supporting our members. Attached is his memo to the employee as a result of the dangerous effects of COVID-19 and his support of his employees and our members.

Similar language was also implemented by Midddlesex County Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian to ensure our members are not only protected, but compensated for the difficult and demanding job they do under these adverse deadly conditions.

We applaud Sheriff McDermott and Sheriff Koutoujian on a job well done & hope ALL County Sheriff’s will follow their lead.

It should be noted the Middlesex County Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian has also taken a leadership role in compensating and protecting our members, by insuring they are paid during the 14 day quarantine as well, as result of this dangerous and deadly outbreak of the Coronavirus within the prisons in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

We applaud both these Sheriff’s for their leadership, their commitment and their understanding that together we can and will overcome many obstacles, including COVID-19. Thank you, Gentlemen for your dedication and commitment to our members.

Fraternally,
Jerry Flynn,
NEPBA Executive Director
