Representatives Xiarhos and Wells file Halo Act (HD465)

The New England Police Benevolent Association applauds the proactive efforts of State Representatives Steve Xiarhos (R 5th Barnstable) and Richard Wells (D 7th Norfolk) on filing the Halo Act (HD465) which would create a much needed buffer zone around first responders as they carry out their official duties.

This bipartisan effort is a balanced common sense approach to  curtail the growing problem of individuals impeding our public safety personnel as they try to protect or save others, especially in emergency situations. where every second counts.
While carrying out a job that already has its inherent risks, our first responders should not have to worry about being distracted or their own safety.being further imperiled.

Let’s pass this bill and Protect those, who Protect us.

The NEPBA and all of its members stand in resolute support of HD 465 n Act ensuring the safety and dignity of first responders (Halo Act) and will work towards its passage.
