Locals should immediately demand a copy of the Discipline Spreadsheet their agency submitted to POST

ISSUE:  We found several errors for our members in the recently published POST list.  The list of discipline for each agency was supplied on a spreadsheet to POST.  We have seen that some agencies clearly reported incorrect or incomplete information to POST, resulting in publication that is wrong and obviously damaging to an officers reputation.  Discipline that was overturned, vacated, rescinded, etc was reported as sustained, for example.
ACTION:  We are advising our local union presidents / eboards / members to (1) request from their agencies a complete copy of the actual spreadsheet it submitted to POST that listed officers and discipline; and (2) analyze the spreadsheet for accuracy (specifically whether the listed discipline was overturned, removed, vacated, amended by agreement, etc.; and (3) if there are any discrepancies or untruthful entries on the spreadsheet, gather all relevant documents (agreements, arbitration decisions, etc) and contact your NEPBA reps to coordinate a response.
If false information was knowingly reported by the agency, or if POST wrongly published information that it was told was vacated, etc., it is important to get that information corrected, and also explore liability issues for parties responsible for wrongful publication.
