The family of slain Woburn Police Officer John B. Maguirecq, wearing their New England PBA memorial pins, stood today in the well of the state House of Representatives and, to thunderous applause, received the Hanna Medal of Honor in his memory. Maguire, a 34-year veteran, was on duty on Dec. 26, 2010 when he responded during a snowstorm to a Kohl’s department store, where an attempt to rob the store had triggered an alarm. Maguire was shot four times, but killed his assailant, career criminal Domenic Cinelli.
