NEW ENGLAND PBA PRESIDENT McMAHON HONORED AT POLICE WEEK

May 15, 2008 - The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) honored the twelve recipients who received the “Officer of the Month” designation for this past year.  Among those honored in Washington, D.C. was New England PBA President Bryan W. McMahon, who was nominated and selected as the “Officer of the Month” for May 2007.  This prestigious award was presented to Officer McMahon by NLEOMF Chairman & CEO Craig W. Floyd, which was also attend by Bryan’s lovely wife Carol.

As many of you know personally, Bryan is a person of compassion, class and commitment and is well deserving of this special honor. Today, in honor of National Peace Officers Day, a national holiday signed into law by President John F. Kennedy, we salute President Bryan W. McMahon for a job well done in representing the City of Lowell, MA, the Lowell Police Department, the New England PBA, I.U.P.A., AFL-CIO, as well as his many friends and family who applaud him his commitment to law enforcement.

New England PBA Sgt-at-Arms Butch Alpers who also attend the ceremony called the event, “the culmination of a brilliant law enforcement career and a class operation for a real classy guy!” 

New England PBA Executive Vice President Marty Conway stated, “Our organization is proud of the honor bestowed upon President McMahon and his leadership in indicative of the value we place in him as a person and as a friend.”

Editor’s note:   New England PBA Executive Director Jerry Flynn and Lowell, MA Superintendent of Police Kenneth E. Lavallee nominated President McMahon for this prestigious award.
