BOSTON - The Massachusetts House and Senate have worked up a compromise bill on pension reform. Numerous calls have come in inquiring about whether SB 2079 eliminated Quinn Bill payments from retirement calculations. The Quinn Bill is and always has been considered part of your "regular compensation" in retirement calculations and will remain that way. Areas being removed include salary enhancements such as unused vacation or sick time, car allowances, etc. Please note that even these are protected until 2012 if they are presently under contract. See Section 23 of SB 2079.
We will have additional news as it develops.
