NEPBA’s
representative, Steve Arnold, working with the NH Retirement Security
Coalition has advised that the NH Retirement bill, HB 1645, is going to
Committee on Conference. The Coalition has been reaching out to all
public employees and retirees to get them to contact their State
Representative and urge them to vote for HB1645 as Unanimously Passed
by the Senate. As part of this effort, the NEPBA encourages its NH
members to continue this campaign by contacting their representatives.
Members can use the following link, http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/house/members/housemembers.html, to obtain contact information for your Representative.
You can use the following telephone form when speaking to them.
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening,
How are you today? Great , my name is _____________________________________.
I am calling on behalf of the 70,000 active and retired Teachers, Firefighters and Police Officers here in New Hampshire.
I am currently and active/retired ——————- (Teacher, Police Officer, Firefighter or State Employee)
As you are aware, the NH Retirement has been discussed and debated and accordingly would you agree that all sides want to full fill the promises that have been made, isn’t that correct?
(If no how come and note it) response I understand but were you aware that;
The Senate unanimously supported a slightly newer version of the HB 1645 that still maintains the saving to NH taxpayers while honoring the promises that were made to NH employees.
The NH Retirement recently testified in the Senate that cost to the taxpayers is virtually the same in both versions with that said, isn’t time to send this to the Governor.
Can we count on you to vote to concur with Senate version of the bill sending it to the Governor for his signature?
If yes thank you very much
If no could I ask what is in the Senate Version that you do not support?
Need more Information or I want to listen to the debate.
Is there anything in particular you need to hear to help you support the Senate Version of HB 1645?
Thanks for your time.
We would also like to publicly thank all of the
NH State Senators and the 90 State Representatives who voted to support
the Senate version of HB1645. The Representatives in support are listed
below. We encourage our members to take the time to contact them and
thank them for their continued support.
