Bryan McMahon is a valued and respected member of the law enforcement community with an impeccable reputation, who is well known and well respected for his high degree of integrity. At the rank of detective, Bryan was assigned to the Vice/Narcotics Evidence Office and enjoyed over many decades of service. Detective McMahon had also served as the strength coach for the Lowell Police Academy, an accredited regional police academy for area police departments and the University of Massachusetts-Lowell recruits. Detective McMahon later retired in January 2011, after 33 years of service to the citizens of Lowell and the Lowell Police Department.

Bryan is also especially proud of his work with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund & Museum, a Washington D.C. based organization dedicated to bringing true memorials for fallen law enforcement officers. His efforts were officially recognized in May 2007 where he was named NLEOMF Officer of the Month and was a keynote speaker during said events.

As a labor leader, Bryan McMahon possesses extensive knowledge and experience that very few police officers have encountered in their careers. His experience as a shift steward, executive board member, vice president and president of a 200 member local in the City of Lowell, MA uniquely qualified him for his upcoming role as a police labor relations expert in Massachusetts. He served with distinction for many years as a Police Representative to the Massachusetts Joint Labor-Management Committee for Municipal Police & Fire, under the tutelage of its Chairman John T. Dunlop, the former U.S. Secretary of Labor.

In his capacity as a member of the JLMC and as a former national representative for the International Brotherhood of Police Officers (IBPO), Bryan McMahon has extensive knowledge and vast experience in contract negotiations, fact finding, mediation and contract arbitration. His practical experience with police labor related issues and his leadership and commitment to the law enforcement community is well known and well received. In his service as a national representative, his knowledge of Public Employee Collective Bargaining Law was put to practice on a daily basis.

He looks forward with great anticipation and excitement to continue his commitment to his brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement and their support staff, as Executive Secretary of the New England Police Benevolent Association, Inc., I.U.P.A Local 9000, AFL-CIO – he is committed to “Speaking with One Voice, Moving with One Purpose.”

Bryan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement from Western New England College. 

Bryan and wife Carol are the proud parents of a daughter Erica, who along with her husband Todd are the parents of four very active boys. Bryan and Carol were also the parents of a son, Ryan P. McMahon, who like his father, encouraged a generation to exceed expectations even in the face of adversity. Bryan also serves as chairman of the Ryan P. McMahon Memorial Scholarship Fund, which has granted educational scholarships to deserving students for over 15 years.
