AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE MODERNIZATION AND SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PENSION SYSTEM

January 26, 2010 (Boston) - Governor Patrick unveiled his proposed legislation to revamp the retirement system at a meeting with New England Police Benevolent Association Legislative Director Russ Taylor and other union leaders at the State House today.  In a plan which will require going through the legislative process, the Governor's Pension Reform Phase 2 Plan claims to make the state pension system fair, credible and fiscally sustainable.  Legislative Director Russ Taylor has been placed on the agenda for our quarterly meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2010.  He has dissected the plan as well as the legislation and will explain the key components of the legislation.
